The Guru Of Darkness project started during the winter of 2004/2005. Baron Cimetiere and Davmass as guitar and bass players, previously in HUMANITY ECLIPSE brutal death band. Enlil as guitar player, keys & sequencer, playing metal since 1987 in bands like QUARTERER (1987/1990) & SCHIZO (1990/2005). Tsade as vocalist, who lives a personal black metal way since 1996 in bands like OPUS IN FLAMES (1997/2000) & SECRET DREAM (1999/2002). He started a solo keyboards project named TOWERS OF SOUL in 2001 also involved in horror movies soundtrack from 2005.
Guru Of Darkness released a promo in autumn 2005; 20 copies only for friends and a label. In these two years they assembled and recorded stuff enough for two full-lenghts. In 2006 Guru Of Darkness released a self-produced CD called JOURNEY TO DESTINY limited in 100 copies only for selling. A promo for label called "GOD Promo" released in January 2007. In the early 2007 the helldrummer Asmodeo joined G.O.D.
The band recorded new stuff and shot Moloch Eyes videoclip realized by Extreme Video in 2008.
In 2009 Haures records released the first G.O.D full-length "Mater Meretrix", including special guests like Steve Sylvester (DEATH SS), Giuseppe Orlando (Novembre) & Culto Prietsu (Ex Mayhem-Shadow Dancers).
